Healthful Living
Course Description
This course is for 8th grade Healthful Living. All material covered in this course will align with the NC Essential Standards for Health and Physical Education Grade 8.
Grading Practices
Students will receive grades on all assignments completed in this course. Assignments will consist of module completion, surveys, worksheets, quizzes, and other assessments. The grading scale will remain on a 10-point scale for this course (A-90+; B-80+; C-70+; D-59+).
Grade Breakdown
- Journals/Discussion Board 15%
- Assignments 20%
- Quizzes 25%
- Tests/Assessments 40%
Late-work
- All assignments are expected to be turned in on time (students get 2 weeks to turn in all assignments for full credit)
- If a student misses a grade deadline, he/she has 14 days to turn in the assignment after the due date with a 10% grade deduction
- After 14 days, students will no long be able to submit the assignment late
Expectations for Attendance
- Students are expected to attend "class" or online sessions according to their specific schedule
- Online class sessions will take place via Zoom; I will post the link to join class in your Announcements daily
- I will be marking attendance for every online class session
- If a student is absent or knows they will have an absence, this must be communicated with me via email for the curriculum missed
