Hi everyone! Welcome to your online French I course. My name is Mme. Ellis (read like "Madame Ellis") and I will be your French I teacher. This is now my second year teaching at Hillside High School. I am very excited to start the 2nd semester with you using this virtual platform!

Course Overview

French I introduces you to the language and its global culture. This class develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, with an emphasis placed on interpersonal communication and proficiency.

You will acquire skills through real-world situations and use your experiences to practice these skills. You will develop an appreciation for how languages and cultures work by comparing the target language and culture(s) to your own.

You will learn on the Novice Low & Novice Mid-levels of language proficiency according to the North Carolina World Language Essential Standards [Clarifying Objectives] and the ISTE Standards.
