Description:
This is the submission form for the Placement Assessment of your artworks as you transition from 8th to 9th grade here at DSA. While your grade so far in this course is the most significant factor in determining your placement for next year, the submission of artworks and responding to a few questions will allow your teacher to offer you feedback on your progress and your level of preparedness for pursuing a Visual Arts Concentration in High School.
Instructions:
- Answer the written questions.

UPLOAD one artwork (except the last question) into each of the subsequent questions.

- Click on the "Insert" button.
- Mouse over "Image".
- Click on "Upload Image".
- A dialogue box will pop open.
- Make sure that "Computer" is selected at the top.
- Click on the "Upload Image" screen.
- Navigate to and then Click on your image.
- Click "Open"
- Make sure that "Embed Image" is selected (it is the default).
- Click "Submit"
- Your picture should then show up in your quiz.

- If you have the app on your phone you can take photos straight from this quiz.
- Contact your teacher or Mr. martinez (val_martinez@dpsnc.net) if you need help figuring this out.

- You must include at least 5 images including a pencil self-portrait.
- You may include additional images in the second to last question to demonstrate additional skills and/or interests.
Follow Up
Your teacher will review your submission and make a recommendation for your placement for next year based on your 1st semester grade and your submission. They will also make comments on your artworks and your readiness for a Visual Arts Concentration in high school.
Note
All DSA 9th graders are required to have two concentrations. In the 10th grade, they can choose to remain in only one concentration. This assessment will count as one of the two arts assessments that are required for your registration for the 9th grade. You can do assessments in as many arts areas as you want.
