  • Can you find photos that demonstrate each of these schemes?

Instructions:

  1. Watch this slide presentation if needed:
  2. Consider these questions:
    • Can you identify Photo Composition schemes?
    • Can you find photos that highlight each of them?
  3. Go to Google Images
  4. Choose a subject to search (e.g. nature, travel, urban, etc.)
    • You may choose several.
    • You may find that some work better than others for this activity.
    • Make sure you are searching for Creative Commons images.
  5. Within the results, choose 5 photos that highlight each of the Photo Composition Schemes.
    • Rule of Thirds
    • Leading Lines
    • High Contrast
    • Illusion of Depth
    • Repetition
    • Make sure they are photographs, not graphics
  6. Download, rename, and save each photo to your computer.
  7. Review steps 3-5 from above if needed: Searching for Images in Google
