- Thinking about shapes and forms in nature - especially thematically.
- What characteristics draw you to certain themes in nature?
- What is the best way to represent a theme in nature?
Instructions:
- Read the Final Project Assignment: Nature Vessel
- Think about a variety of themes in nature (for example, flowers, leaves, trees, sea creatures, etc.).
- Consider these questions.
- What are the overall forms?
- What are the characteristics that draw you to them?
- How can you put them together in interesting ways?
- Draw THREE idea sketches for a vessel with a different theme on each one.
- One sketch per half sheet of paper.
- Make them as large as the paper.
- Sketch them lightly at first.
- Then, make them darker.
- Include details.
- Choose the one that you want to make and add color to it.

- Photograph all three of your nature vessel idea sketches.
- In the quiz:
- List the theme of each of your ideas.
- Describe what you like about each theme.
- EMBED the photo of the sketch of that theme
- Indicate which of your themes you are going to make for your final vessel (the one you added color to).
Grading: 15 pts
- 9 pts = All three Drawings done (3 pts each)
- 6 pts = Names & Reasons for each (2 pts each)
